The Last Supper Project

See the amazing recreation of renaissance painter Leonardo da Vinci’s magnum opus, The Last Supper. At 7 feet by 15 feet, the piece is the largest LEGO® rendering of da Vinci’s masterpiece in the world. The artwork consists of 156,672 LEGO® “pixels,” but a total of 179,120 pieces were used to complete the masterpiece. Of the extra pieces, 2,448 are the 8x8 base plates on which the bricks were assembled. Another 20,000 were required due to a shortage of brown bricks—necessitating the stacking of three plates in lieu of one brick. In 2024, over 2,000 BrickTown visitors each built a 2.5-inch square of 64 bricks using custom instructions. A total of 2,448 squares formed the final piece.

Leonardo da Vinci’s original painting measures nearly 14 feet high by 30 feet wide, covering the end wall of the dining hall at the Convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan, Italy. Da Vinci completed the mural in 1498.
